Skipping The Weigh-in

I’m getting back on track after being on vacation this week and, since it’s also the week before my period, I know better than to get on the scale right now. What I’m doing instead is planning my meals, drinking lots of water (I got my 64 oz. in yesterday! Did you?), and organizing trips to the gym.

This weekend will be a busy one, but I’m carving out time to grocery shop for healthy meals and get to Body Pump class and go for a run. I’ve been slacking on running lately, but I’m planning to do the Color Run 5K on Sept. 3 with a bunch of my co-workers, so I need to get back in the groove. I don’t plan to run this one very fast … this is more about the fun and the camaraderie for me. But I do want to do another 5K this fall and run to beat my time (I have no idea what that time is, but I think I can find it online).

So, here’s hoping for a great weigh-in next Fri. before I hope on my flight for another vacation! I have a hard time losing weight and not gaining a little when I’m traveling, so I’m going to work extra hard when I’m at home.

Have a great weekend!

About stellarfashionandfitness

I am Jennifer Dome, a 33-year-old woman living in Birmingham, Ala., miles from my Northeast-based family and some of my closest friends, but loving the Magic City, my BF and the friends I’ve made here in the South. I’ve lived in nine different states, plus London, and worked for some top-notch publications (Southern Living, Women’s Wear Daily) as a writer and copy editor. Now I am the assistant editor at a bass fishing magazine. I’ve struggled with my weight for as long as I remember, at one time tipping the scale at 289 pounds. At the end of 2009, weighing in at about 275, I started counting calories and exercising regularly, finally finding some success in this ongoing battle. After a scare from my doctor in early 2010, that success became even more important to my overall health. It’s still a challenge, and the scale definitely moves up and down instead of just down, but my confidence that I will reach my goal is solid.
