Man, I just love Mindy Kaling. I’m so excited that she has her own show, “The Mindy Project.” For those of you who don’t know, she was one of the principal writers on “The Office,” so you just know she’s got to be brilliant. She also used to have her own blog, which I followed religiously, dedicated to all the things she purchased, “Things I Bought That I Love.” She switched sites when her book was coming out, but since then she’s blown up so she hasn’t written much. If you haven’t read her book “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” you really must.

OK, enough about her mind and talent, let’s focus on the important stuff: her clothes. She has great style and really knows how to dress her body well. I love that she doesn’t hide her shape. She embraces it. In fact, she enhances it. I think it shows in the clothes she chooses to wear that she loves her curves. She’s proud of them.

This outfit reminds me of something her TV character Mindy would wear. I call it “nerdy chic.” The pullover sweater over a button down with slim jeans and heels? Great for a night at the movies or casual drinks.

I love that Mindy’s not afraid of color. This pink is stunning on her, and the belt adds the perfect cinching effect to show off her shape. The diagonal swoop on the skirt of the dress is also very flattering.

Mindy accentuates her shape here, even in more casual clothes. Slim jeans in an unexpected wash, a bright top and pretty flats are perfect for a day spent running errands.

Finally, I just love this whole outfit. I think it’s unexpected to put this sheer, polka dot blouse underneath this burgundy sheath dress, but it totally works. The full skirt is what makes this dress, and the leopard heels are a great contrast and pattern mix. And you can’t go wrong with this bold lip color either!
