I’m not sure why, but right now I’m having anti-gym moment. Don’t get me wrong, my gym is great, the equipment is good, the instructors are really inspiring, and all the classes are fun, but for whatever reason I am just not in the mood to go there.
Earlier this year, I would go to the gym at least a few times a week, and I loved it — I liked the energy, the atmosphere, and going there actually got me to work out.
But right now, maybe because I’m a newlywed and I feel like nesting, I just want to be home. I want to go for walks around my neighborhood. I want to go for a run outside — that’s the big thing here, I want to be outside. But I do want to do some strength training at my house because I know that I feel better and I feel stronger when I am doing strength training exercises. So my goal right now is to find some routines that I can do at home that will make me want to work out and that will give me as good as a workout as at the gym.
Now that doesn’t mean I won’t be at spinning class once in a while or I won’t go to Zumba on the weekend like I like to do sometimes, but for now it just seems like I want to be home and I want to be able to get a good enough work out that it allows me to continue to lose some weight and it fuels me to eat better meals.
This feeling that I don’t want to go to the gym, for all I know, is a feeling that I feel this week and next week I’ll be at the gym every other day, but for now I’m going to focus on remaining active in ways that make me happy and we’ll go from there!
