If you’ve ever read my blog or followed me on social media or talked to me IRL during the last two weeks, you know I am just slightly obsessed with Adele and her new album 25.
Besides her amazing voice and songwriting, I’m also obsessed with her style. I know you’re probably thinking, “But all she wears is black.” And while I did dress in all black in her honor on Nov. 20, the day her album was released, her all-black ensembles really go beyond just the basic little black dresses.
Pay close attention to the clothes we’ve seen her in this year, and especially since promoting her new album. While black is heavily featured, she and/or her stylist know how to build in texture. Layers, fringe, velvet, silk, suede, shimmer … it’s all there and it all looks amazing on her!
I love the way she mixes in Bohemian touches with everything she wears. The last two outfits above are perfect examples of this. I love the trim of the dress and her festival outfit is perfectly trendy with the slim pants, booties and chain purse, but with the added touch of whimsy from her swinging, medallion-laden top.
And while black is clearly her No. 1 choice, lately she’s been building other colors into her wardrobe — namely, darker greens. These two outfits from the “Today” show and her performance on Graham Norton’s BBC show are gorgeous departures from her usual repertoire.
What do you think of Adele’s latest looks? Do you like basic black, mixed up with textures?
