Shop Local In Alabama

Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, and I’m always a fan of supporting local artists and businesses, no matter the time of year. So here are a few suggestions for you!

Local Art

A couple of weeks ago I was the lucky recipient of this awesome print by Sarah Woodall. She had an Instagram contest, and I won this beautiful piece that I can’t wait to hang in my home!

Sarah has T-shirts, prints and other goodies for sale on her website and Etsy site. Her art is great for any fans of our Magic City!

Sherri at You Got Rossed posted about local art recently and included more great suggestions, including my favorite: Chris Davis. His Draw Dog pet portraits and many faces of Vulcan are fun, colorful pieces to add to your home!

Local Honey

Recently I attended Market Noel with Jessica of Spiffy Eats & Giggle Water and she introduced me to Garden Honey Bee. She uses their jalapeno honey in a delicious-sounding recipe you can find here. I purchased their lotion bar and a lip balm to give as a gift, but I tried a number of their products in person, and they’re lovely! Great natural scents and after trying a scrub and lotion, I marveled at how soft my hands felt.

Local Gifts

Sweet Pineapple Gifts & Home is located in Huntsville and has the cutest wooden signs with inspirational sayings. I also loved some of their holiday designs.

Local Apparel

Located in Pelham, Alabaster and Clanton, LJ’s Boutique carries a variety of sizes, including plus. I loved this creamy, supersoft sweater cape. Their stores also carry gifts.

Local Home Furnishings

This was one of the first displays we saw when arriving at Market Noel — the home decor at Urban Home Market, located in the Lee Branch shopping center off 280. I pretty much want everything shown here, especially these pretty birds with crowns … my last name is King!

If you ever have the opportunity to attend Market Noel by the Junior League of Birmingham before the holidays kick off, I definitely recommend it! This is the second year that Jessica has invited me to attend, and I’m glad it’s become our tradition!

I must try all of these stores. I like the Candie Jar. She sells home made body butters and scrubs. They are divine. she is having a sale tomorrow too.
