A Local Boutique With Plus-Sizes? Yes!

One of the hardest things about A.) loving fashion and B.) wanting to support local Birmingham businesses has been shopping for plus-sizes at local boutiques.

What? Shopping hard?

Yes. When I want cute shoes or fun accessories, I’m set. Home decor or gifts handmade in Alabama? No problem.

But as a plus-size girl, finding local stores that include women of my size hasn’t just been hard — it’s been impossible.

Until I came across Bohemian Bliss Boutique on Instagram!

I saw this tunic on one of their posts and the word “plus” jumped out at me in the description! To say I was excited was an understatement!

I made plans to visit their store at the Lee Branch shopping center (on the bottom level near Santa Fe Day Spa and Taziki’s) and was thrilled to find a cute store, great customer service — and plans to expand!

This tunic was one of many cute tops I came across as I shopped at Bohemian Bliss, and when the owner’s husband told me they had plans to expand the size of the store and wanted to include more choices for plus-sizes, I was ecstatic!

Especially because I can’t wait to get my hands on more of these capri leggings — at $20 they are well-worth the price for their thickness, yet lightweight feel, and though I was skeptical about their “one size fits all-plus” sizing, they really do fit well, with room for more if you need it.

I have to note here that I am not working with the store to write this post — I’m writing it simply because I’m happy to find a local place that includes plus-sizes. And by the way, the offerings for other sizes were super-cute, too!

Happy local shopping!
