Happy Halloween, everyone!
I haven’t done a recipe post in for.ev.er, so why not start with Halloween, right?
A couple of weeks ago I spent a fun weekend in Nashville with my friend Sherri for the Adele concert. She was AH-MAZ-ING, of course! I’m still in awe and whenever I listen to her songs, it takes me back to that magical concert. It will be one for my storybooks for sure!
We explored a lot of different Nashville neighborhoods, including one I’ve been to before: 12 South. It was there that I fell in love with the Draper James store, as I knew I would!
Draper James is Reese Witherspoon’s brand, and as a fan of “Legally Blonde,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and so many other movies, I knew after stalking the Draper James Instagram account for a while that I had to visit the store in Nashville. Sherri got me some amazing notecards while we were there, and I made a special purchase, too, which I’ll show off on the blog soon!
What I didn’t realize was how fun the Love, Reese blog is! I came across the recipe they posted by Stacey Little of A Southern Bite for Halloween Oreo Chewies and immediately decided to make them for the Halloween party at my office. Click here for the full recipe!
Sadly I wasn’t able to find the Halloween Oreos the recipe calls for, so rather than hike to another grocery store for the right kind, I used regular Oreos and topped the bars with a sprinkle of mini Reese’s Pieces — the perfect colors!
I tried a small bite to make sure they were edible (wink wink), and they’re super-tasty and, just as the name describes, delectably chewy!
I think you could make these with other Oreos (Christmas colors!) and add other mini candies or sprinkles, too.
Happy Trick or Treat!
